Project Summary

When University Credit Union planned their 4th branch, and their 2nd branch in Portland, ME, they wanted to capture a youthful and progressive "look and feel." The credit union was also seeking a sales-oriented, retail interior with a distinctive look to serve the growing population of University of ME alumni settling in the Portland area as well as attract new student members attending the Portland campus.

Working with University CU, BrandPartners designed a one-story structure, on the site of a former Burger King. The building features a distinctive rounded glass and aluminum main entrance that leverages the credit union's architectural integrity through the use of materials found in existing branches.

The use of environmental graphics projects a youthful interior, while the exterior exudes a landmark presence, yet adhering to the city's strict requirements of a maintaining a "village-like" setting.
